Part 4: When the King's Away . . .

The book of Judges details a turbulent time in Israel’s history. One generation followed God, and for that He blessed them. The next generation forgot all about what God had done, and so He left them to fend on their own. Until, at least, they remember Him again, and in their distress cried out to Him. Two statements recur quite often: 1) Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord. 2) In those days Israel had no king. This week as we see where and how the Israelites fell short, we will see as well the vision that God has always had for His relationship with those He loves. He wants to be our King, and in return He invites us to be His people.
