message: “The Siren Song of Familiar” from Paul Huyghebaert

Paul Huyghebaert - February 3, 2019

The Siren Song of Familiar

For the month of February we will be spending our time in the apostle Paul’s letter to the Galatian Christians. This is a unique letter, full of exhortation, warning, and even anguish. Many believe that Paul had helped to establish the churches in Galatia on his second missionary journey. As he writes, we see his love for these Christians, but also his despair. What had Paul so worked up? The Galatian Christians were abandoning the Good News of Jesus for another gospel, one that wasn’t good news at all. As we read his letter, we will discover that his pleas have relevance to Christians in our day and age, every bit as much as they did to his first readers.
